If you are associated with an Alabama Volunteer Fire Department operating on the Alabama Forestry Service (AFS) UHF radio network, you know that the FCC's mandatory move to narrow band by 2013 is now in process for AFS system users. That means that new radios may be required or existing radios modified for narrow band 12.5 kHz operation.
